Schneider’s Erin Van Zeeland Nominated for Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award
The accolade recognizes the roles of leading women in the dynamic fields of transportation and logistics
GREEN BAY, Wis. – (April 10, 2019) – Schneider (NYSE: SNDR) was built on a foundation of determination and character, and it takes passionate associates to keep that infrastructure strong. Erin Van Zeeland, senior vice president and general manager of logistics services, is one such associate. Her unrelenting drive for success not only makes headlines within the company but has also captured the attention of the Women in Trucking (WIT) Association, which recently announced Van Zeeland is a finalist for the Distinguished Woman in Logistics award (DWLA).
The DWLA acknowledges and honors the contributions and accomplishments of an outstanding individual recognized by her peers for achievement and leadership in the field of logistics. Nominees exemplify commitment to their professions, the desire to further the industry’s success and their participation in civic and community affairs. Finalists were selected from a group of women who have gone above and beyond in their professional role and educational or philanthropic organizations.
Van Zeeland is responsible for all aspects of Schneider’s Logistics Services offerings, including Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and Port Dray. She ensures that over 27,000 third-party carriers and service providers are effectively utilized to meet supply chain needs, and service and profitability objectives across any mode of transportation and logistics services. She is also a core member of the Schneider Women’s Network, which was developed to attract, develop and retain the best talent, and to ensure that no barriers stand in the way of achieving that objective.
“Erin has a genuine interest in seeing others around her thrive by committing her considerable talents to developing and mentoring associates across the business,” said Mark Rourke, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Schneider. “She serves as a catalyst for innovation and creates solutions that deliver value for all our stakeholders. Her business acumen and ability to lead with grace through adversity are true assets for the company and the industry as a whole.”
The winner of the DWLA will be announced Friday, April 12, at the Transportation Intermediaries Association’s 2019 “Capital Ideas” conference in Orlando, Florida.
